Here are some guidelines from God’s Word will help you to be a better communicator.
Matthew 7:12 (NLT) “Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets.
2. Get the facts
Proverbs 18:13 (NLT) Spouting off before listening to the facts is both shameful and foolish.
3. Watch who you listen to
Proverbs 20:19 (NLT) A gossip goes around telling secrets, so don’t hang around with chatterers.
4. Take care of your own business first
Matthew 7:3-5 (NLT) 3“And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye when you have a log in your own? 4How can you think of saying to your friend, ‘Let me help you get rid of that speck in your eye,’ when you can’t see past the log in your own eye? 5Hypocrite! First get rid of the log in your own eye; then you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend’s eye.”
5. Slow down
James 1:19 (NLT) Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry.
6. Use Few Words
Proverbs 17:27-28 (NLT) 27 A truly wise person uses few words; a person with understanding is even-tempered. 28 Even fools are thought wise when they keep silent; with their mouths shut, they seem intelligent.
Proverbs 12:18 (NLT) Some people make cutting remarks, but the words of the wise bring healing.
8. Control yourself
James 1:26-27 (NLT) 26If you claim to be religious but don’t control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless. 27Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.
9. Seek to please the Lord
Psalm 19:14 (NLT) May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer.
