Stay Faithful & Flexible!

Nativity_2008_desert - no wise men - shepherd

This past Sunday, I preached the second part in our series “Changed By The Child.”  As we looked at the birth of our Savior, we focused on Joseph.  He was a man who had to deal with his plans constantly changing.

Joseph was faithful to the Lord
and flexible with his plans!

So today, I want to share a few verses in hopes to encourage you to live out this message.

Be Faithful to the Lord:

Romans 1:16a (NLT) For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes…

Hebrews 12:1 – 3 (NLT) 1Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.  2We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.  3Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people; then you won’t become weary and give up.

Be Flexible with your plans:

Proverbs 3:5 – 6 (NLT)top-of-world

5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart;
do not depend on your own understanding.
Seek his will in all you do,
and he will show you which path to take.

Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT) 11For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

When you mess up:

1 John 1: 9 (NLT) … if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.

I recommend memorizing these verses.  They have meant a lot to me over the years.  Let them inspire you to live for Christ.

May the Lord bless you today!
