Jesus is the Deliverer from disease & death!

Last Sunday, I preached on Matthew 9:18-26.

Our outline was:

I referred to an interesting video in the message.  Here it is.

It sounds amazing to me.  But, regardless of whether or not you believe the story, Jesus is still the Deliverer from disease & death!  And for that, I am grateful.

Have a great day!

Is Jesus really coming back?

Jesus is coming back – but no one knows when.  The Bible says his return will be like a ‘thief in the night.’  (see 1 Thess. 5:1-11)  and take a moment to read Jesus’ words in Matthew 24:36-44.

Here is an article that was written by someone who closely examined Harold Camping’s absurd calculations.    (Click here to attempt to understand the logic).

  • He’s the guy who has the billboards up everywhere.
  • (By the way, Harold Camping also predicted Jesus’ return in 1994.  He was wrong about that one, huh?)

My point is, Jesus can come back today, next Sunday, or 100 years from now.  I saw a bumper sticker that said “Jesus is coming back: look busy.”  I know it was supposed to be funny, but I think that we should always live with that expectation.

I’ll always remember hearing a pastor say that we need to live as if Jesus…

  • died on the cross yesterday
  • rose this morning
  • is coming back tomorrow

If we lived with a focus like that, I think we’ll be ok.

Have a blessed day.

On Good Friday, I will worship only Jesus!

Today is Good Friday, a day in which we remember Christ’s death on the cross for the sins of the world.

Google reminded me that the holiday that I actually should be celebrating is Earth Day.

This, in turn, reminded me of a Bible verse:

“They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen.” – Romans 1:25(NLT)

We can & should be good stewards of our planet, but we must refuse to worship the god of environmentalism.  We must worship only Jesus Christ.
